Invite an employee
Prepare the employee's designation and access, send an invitation and check its progress.

Before you start#
You need access to user administration and the invitation action. Prepare the employee's name, work email and designation. Confirm the department and job title where relevant.
A designation is required in the invitation form because it connects the position with pay-band and costing configuration. Create the required designation through the authorized administration workflow before inviting someone.
Send the invitation#
- Open user management and select Invite member. On a phone, the invitation action is available from the People view's menu.
- Enter the employee's name and email. Check the address carefully.
- Select Designation.
- Set Department and Job title where applicable.
- Select Send invitation.
Check the result#
Find the invited person in user management. The employee must complete the invitation's password setup before using normal sign-in. Coordinate role and department access with the responsible administrator; sending an invitation is not proof that all job-specific permissions are ready.
Resolve an invitation problem#
| Problem | Next action |
|---|---|
| No designation is available | Have an authorized administrator create the needed designation. |
| The invitation action is missing | Ask for a review of the user-administration authority. |
| The employee cannot find the email | Confirm the address and ask them to check spam. Use the invitation resend action when appropriate. |
| The invitation is expired or already used | Check the person's current account and invitation state before resending. |
| The employee signs in but lacks a page | Review their role and record scope; do not send another invitation to fix access. |
For the employee's next step, share Signing in and access and Your first day.
