Getting Started

Create a new doc

How to write a doc in MantraWorx: sign in, open the editor, add content and publish or send it for review.

On this page

You write docs in Docs, a section of the MantraWorx app. You need to be signed in, and your role needs permission to write documents.

Note: A doc stays private until a reviewer approves it. Once it is approved, it appears on this documentation site by itself, in the same style as the other guides. Drafts and docs waiting for review are never shown here.

Before you start#

  • New to MantraWorx? Create a workspace first, then sign in.
  • Already a member? Sign in with your email and password.
  • No Docs option, or a permission message? Your role may not allow writing documents. Ask your administrator.

Where to find Docs#

In the app, open the Utilities menu in the top bar (the circles icon, next to the bell). It lists Calendar, Meetings, Notes, Announcements and Docs. On a phone, open your profile menu instead.

You can also press Create new doc in the sidebar of this site. If you are signed in, it opens Docs. If not, you are asked to sign in first.

Write your first doc#

  1. Open Docs

Docs lists every doc by category, with a label showing whether it is a draft, in review, or live on the website.

  2. Press New doc

Pick the category it belongs to on the website, or create a new category. Press Start writing.

  3. Give it a title

Click the big title at the top and type a clear name. A Draft label next to it shows the doc is not published yet.

  4. Add details

Under the title, use + tag to add tags so people can find it later.

  5. Write the content

Type in the editor. The toolbar above it has headings (H1 to H3), bold and italic, lists, links and tables. Use headings to split the doc into sections, and lists for steps.

  6. Save your work

Press Save at the bottom right. You see “Document saved successfully” when it works. You return to Docs.

  7. Ask for a review

Open your doc from Docs, open the ⋯ menu at the bottom right, choose Submit for review, and pick a reviewer. When the reviewer approves, the doc goes live on this site shortly afterwards.

An example#

Say your team needs a short checklist for new joiners.

FieldWhat to enter
CategoryTeam handbook
TitleOnboarding checklist
Tagsonboarding, new joiner

Then write the content:

md
## Before day one
- Send the welcome email
- Prepare the laptop

## Day one
1. Meet the team
2. Set up accounts
3. Read the handbook

Save it, then choose Submit for review. When a colleague approves it, the checklist appears on this site under Team handbook.

Edit a doc later#

Open Docs, find the doc and press Edit. Each save keeps a version, so you can go back to an earlier one if you need to.

Note: Changing a live doc turns it back into a draft until a reviewer approves the change. This keeps unreviewed edits off the website, so submit it for review again when you are done.

What stays private#

Drafts, docs waiting for review, and every doc outside the website's docs folder are never shown here, even if their visibility in the app says “Public”. Inside the app, “Public” means everyone in your company, not the internet.
