Before you start#

Confirm your team membership and management responsibilities with the administrator. Managing a team does not automatically grant payroll approval, organization-wide access or access to every document.

Establish a shared view of work#

  1. Review the people and work records available to your team.
  2. Identify the project or request that holds each responsibility.
  3. Check that the work has a clear owner, expected outcome and current status.
  4. Use project tasks to assign work and preserve the context needed by the assignee.

Review work in its original record rather than treating a dashboard summary as the complete explanation.

Review requests#

For leave, open the team approval view available to you and inspect the request's dates and context. Record the decision in the leave workflow so the employee can follow it. See Leave requests.

For documents, use the assigned review and read the current version before deciding. See Document review.

If a decision control is missing, ask the administrator to check the specific authority. Do not assume that another reviewer's access should automatically apply to you.

Coordinate joining and payroll handoffs#

For a new employee, confirm who owns the joining tasks, manager responsibilities and outstanding records. Follow Employee onboarding.

For time or pay questions, keep attendance review separate from payroll approval. The payroll operator must confirm readiness for the relevant period. See Connected workflows.

Check the result#

Your team should know who owns each next action, where its current record lives and which reviewer can decide it. Escalate incomplete access or configuration with the affected task and scope, rather than requesting broad administrative access.
