Conduct cases
Record a conduct concern as a case, hear the employee before deciding and keep the outcome with the case. Show cause notices and warning letters come from the case.
Scenario#
HR opens a case with the facts, sends a show cause notice asking for the employee's response by a date, and records an outcome once the employee has responded or the date has passed.
Steps#
-
Record the facts
Open a conduct case with what happened. Cases are visible to the people team members with conduct access, not to the wider organization.
-
Hear the employee
Ask for the employee's side by a future date with a show cause notice. A decision waits until they have responded or that date has passed, and nobody decides a case about themselves.
-
Record the outcome
Record the outcome and the reason. A warning letter is issued from the case through HR letters, and the employee confirms they received it.
